GL Lighting e-commerce storefront
CONTEXT

The supplied GL storefront brings lighting categories and home décor into a retail homepage, with a brand header, product navigation, search, a featured collection, and a set of popular product categories.

DESIGN CHALLENGE

Help shoppers move from a broad home and lighting catalogue into a relevant product category, while using visual merchandising to introduce collections and products.

MY CONTRIBUTION

I designed the UX and UI for the storefront shown, arranging category navigation, search, merchandising, and category shortcuts into a single shopping entry point.

Make each next step feel clear.

The supplied screen shows a two-level header: brand and collection navigation above a utility bar with shop-by-category, search, account, and cart controls. The homepage then leads with a featured collection and popular categories.

DESIGN FOCUS

Design focus: balance visual inspiration with practical routes into the catalogue, so the homepage supports both browsing and purposeful search.

Bring the connected parts into view.

The supplied design presents the GL brand, lighting and décor navigation, search, featured merchandise, and product-category entry points. No business or usability metrics were supplied.

04

Popular category shortcuts with distinct icons

A useful next step is to test category findability and search behavior with shoppers, then evaluate how the featured banner and category shortcuts work on mobile.
